Brewing up a cure is an event, 6 years in the running to donate money to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It all started because a brew member of The Three Rivers Underground Brewers has a daughter diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. They had a monetary goal set in mind, which has surpassed that after 6 years of doing Brewing Up a Cure. This event people of all kinds come together to try different types of home brewed beer for a great cause. Microbreweries such as Keggle Brewing, Dogfish Head, Stone Brewing, Erie Brewing, Lancaster and Pittsburgh’s own East End Brewing Company will be there to celebrate and help donate toward a great foundation like the Cystic Fibrosis.
This year the event will be held at PPG Wintergarden at PPG Place in Downtown Pittsburgh from 6-10pm on October 13, 2012. There will be live music at this event along with local eateries sampling their best recipes for you to enjoy. There will be many ways to donate here at this event. There will be auctions to bid on and any product you buy will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Out of these 6 years they have raised over 112,000 dollars! In past years they have seen over 650 attendees. There is a cover cost of $50 for a VIP session and $40 for a general admission This is a sold out event, which tells you that this a great place to spend your Saturday night! To keep up to date on their events go to their website. This year they will be featuring a photo booth that will capture all the attendees having fun. It will be entertaining to see how these pictures turn out when the customers go into the booth, I think the beer will give the pictures some character. What do you think?
